It took Shohei Ohtani just one spring training game to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a preview of what could be ahead this season. Ohtani homered in his first appearance in a Dodgers uniform on Tuesday, clubbing a 3-2 pitch the other way for a two-run homer.
Have a look.
Ohtani was the prized free agent of the offseason and ended up signing a record $700M contract with the Dodgers are spending the first six years of his career with the Los Angeles Angels.
It was during the past three seasons that he became a megastar, dominating as both a starting pitcher and left-handed power hitter. He is arguably the greatest two-way player in Major League history and won two of the past three MVP Awards.
The Dodgers hope he can be a difference-maker to help them win another World Series after numerous postseason disappointments.
Ohtani will not pitch this season for the Dodgers after undergoing offseason surgery, but he should still be one of the best hitters in baseball and add to an already-loaded lineup that includes Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.
