As you know, the Supreme Court is getting ready to rule on sending or receiving mifepristone by mail.
To stop it, the court is planning to invoke the Comstock Act, which prohibits mailing drugs — any drugs — via the post or via a common
carrier.
If the Supreme Court revives this law, it could mean that no one, and I
do mean no one, will be able to receive drugs through the mail.
Think of the inconvenience to the thousands of senior citizens, just at
Kaiser Permanente alone, who get their heart meds, their metformin or
their thyroid meds through the mail so that they don’t need to waste time
standing in line or waste gasoline going in to the pharmacy every time
they need to renew their prescriptions.
Don’t any of the Supreme Court justices ever think about the consequences of their actions?
