When the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers were heading for a third overtime period, Austin Reaves had enough.
Reaves capped off a wild game in Milwaukee with a deep go-ahead three-pointer with 38 seconds left to put the Lakers ahead by three. They held on for a 128-124 win after Giannis Antetokounmpo missed two free throws down the stretch.
The Lakers guard was a huge part of his team’s comeback from being 19 points down with 8:25 to go. Reaves had seven points and four assists down the stretch, including an even deeper three-pointer to get the Lakers within two points.
Damian Lillard missed two threes down the stretch in the final period after hitting a big shot to send the game to its second overtime.
But Dame Time expired in the first overtime, as the Bucks star missed all three of his three-pointers and fouled out in the second OT. He also got blocked by Anthony Davis to close out the first OT, part of a dominant performance where the Lakers center had 34 points, 23 rebounds, two steals and four blocks in 51 minutes. Who says The Brow is fragile?
It was a huge win for the Lakers, playing without LeBron James. With four wins in a row, Los Angeles still has a slim chance of avoiding the play-in, though it’s a long shot. After all, long shots are Reaves’ specialty.
