Drake Bell recently came forward, revealing he was the one who made the s-xual abuse claims against former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck.
The ‘Drake & Josh’ star opened up in the new docuseries, ‘Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV’, as he sat down and spoke on what went on behind the scenes for years of his life.
Drake Bell Is A Victim Of S-xual Abuse
In 2004, Brian Peck, who has no relation to Bell’s former co-star Josh Peck, went to trial where he pleaded no contest to a charge of oral copulation with a minor under 16, among other charges.
If you watched the new docuseries, you know that Drake Bell came forward for the first time, revealing he was the 15-year-old who accused Brian Peck of s-xual abuse. “My name is Drake Bell and I came here today to tell my story,” he said as the third episode of the documentary began.
“You know anytime I had an audition or anytime I needed to work on dialogue or anything, I somehow ended up back at Brian’s house,” Bell said in the ‘Quiet On Set’ docuseries of his time leading up to ‘Drake & Josh’, but “everything changed with Brian one morning.”
Drake Bell Details The First Time Brian Peck S-xually Abused Him
“I was sleeping on the couch where I would usually sleep. I woke up to him — I opened my eyes, I woke up and he was sexually assaulting me. I froze and was in complete shock and had no idea what to do or how to react, and I have no idea how to get out of this situation,” Bell said, who was 15 at the time.
“He figured out how to convince my mom and everyone around to, anytime I would have an audition or anytime I needed to work on dialogue or anything, I somehow ended up back at Brian’s house and it just got worse and worse and worse and worse. I was just trapped. I had no way out,” he continued.
Adding, “The abuse was extensive and it got pretty brutal. I don’t know how to elaborate on that on camera, really… Why don’t you think of the worst stuff that someone could do to somebody as a sexual assault, and then I’ll answer your question. I don’t know how else to put it.”
Drake Bell Reveals 2015 Song Was About Him Being A Victim Of S-xual Assault
In a newly uploaded TikTok video, Drake Bell revealed that his 2015 song, ‘In The End’, was written about the s-xual abuse he endured before he came out and told anyone what was happening behind the scenes.
“Wrote this song when I was 15 about what happened before I said anything to anyone,” he shared in the video as ‘In The End’ played in the background.
Knowing what we know now, take a moment and listen to the lyrics. It is easy to recognize that Bell wrote this song about his experience working at Nickelodeon and with Brian Peck.
“Wake up / It’s time to get your things together and drive away / Breathe out, future days will treat you better / That’s what they say / Another day gone without a say / But it’s okay if you turn around / And feel the memories bringin’ you down.”
‘In The End’
The lyrics continue:
“And in the end, are you stronger? (Are you stronger?) / Do you no longer need to recover? / And where have you been since it’s been over? (Since it’s been over) / Over my shoulder, under my skin, will you ever return again?
Wake up / The monsters in your head have left you / All to yourself, it’s alright / If ugly little things remind you of how it felt / Another day, no one tells you what it means / What’s in your way and poisonin’ your dreams / The darkest place that you’ve ever been.”
Fans Are Left ‘Bawling’
After realizing the 2015 song was secretly about the s-xual abuse Bell endured at the hands of Brian Peck, fans and followers immediately flooded the comments section.
One user commented, “It finally clicked why throughout the years he would lash out and get so mad at us still connecting him to ‘Drake & Josh’. The trauma we never knew!”
Another told Bell, “You are very brave.”
“Drake Bell has me bawling at 3 am,” one of his followers admitted, as another wrote, “I can tell you’re still healing from this all. Take your time Drake.”
The video has gotten over 1.7M likes, nearly 23,000 comments, and over 57,000 shares.
