House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is in danger of being ousted due to his announcement that the House will vote on yet another aid package for Ukraine.
This, according to Representative Don Bacon (R-NE).
Bacon believes a vote to remove Johnson is “very likely.” He adds that such a vote being successful is “possible.”
“It’s possible, I’m not going to deny it,” Bacon said in an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press.
“It is very likely that after this Ukraine bill, we may have a standoff with the speaker.”

Mike Johnson Calls For Vote On Ukraine Aid
Bacon was responding to a motion to vacate against Speaker Mike Johnson earlier this month. The motion was brought forth by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
“We’ve started the clock to start the process to elect a new speaker,” Greene said after filing the motion.
The ability to hold such a vote was instituted due to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy making such a concession to get his speakership approved. A single disgruntled member can now file a motion to remove the House Speaker.
McCarthy was ousted in this very manner. But Greene has suggested her motion is simply a warning if Mike Johnson attempts to pass further aid for Ukraine.
“I do not wish to inflict pain on our conference and throw the House in chaos, but this is basically a warning,” she said.
“It’s time for us to go through the process, take our time and find a new speaker of the House that will stand with Republicans and our Republican majority, instead of standing with the Democrats.”

Bacon Often Seeks Support From Democrats
Rep. Don Bacon suggests Speaker Mike Johnson could be saved from Greene’s motion by Democrats. A truly naive vantage point.
“I do think there’ll be Democrats who do not want to see this dysfunction, and I think they’ll probably vote present or maybe not be there for a vote,” he said during the interview.
Why wouldn’t they want the dysfunction? They enjoyed every minute of it when McCarthy was ousted. They enjoyed every minute of it when McCarthy struggled to even be elected.
But now Democrats are going to abandon years of causing dysfunction in Washington and say, ‘We need to keep working for the American people?’
Please.
Bacon also told the far-left news outlet that he doesn’t think any of the evidence brought forth thus far proves President Biden should be impeached.

Why he continues to put an ‘R’ next to his name is anybody’s guess.
Bacon was one of 13 Republicans who helped pass Biden’s $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ bill in 2021. The effort handed the President a victory he could tout as ‘bipartisan.’
It never would have happened without Bacon and the 12 other Republicans supporting it. To nobody’s surprise, the infrastructure bill was a bust. Inflation slashed billions from its value. And it forced states to cancel or delay projects due to ballooning costs.
Bacon was also one of 22 Republicans who chose not to vote for an actual conservative for House Speaker in Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
That effort prompted conservative radio host Mark Levin to call for them to be primaried. Fox News host Brian Kilmeade was caught on a hot mic calling Bacon a “dumbass” for his vote.

Bacon’s latest claim that Democrats will help save Speaker Mike Johnson is further evidence confirming Kilmeade’s suspicions.
