Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic roasted his team on Monday with an April Fools’ Day joke.
The Raptors not only lost their 13th game in a row on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers, but they allowed 135 points or more for the 10th time of the season.
They’ve surrendered at least 100 points in all but six of their 74 games during the 2023-24 campaign and were coming off of Wednesday’s loss against the New York Knicks where they gave up a season-high 145 points. The Knicks came into that bout as 13.5-point road favorites, marking the heaviest they’d been favored on the road since 1993.
Toronto enters Monday in 13th place in the Eastern Conference at 23-51.
The team has the 24th-ranked defense in the Association, surrendering a whopping 118.4 points per tilt this season.
Rajakovic has been one of the more candid head coaches during this first season at the helm.
The 45-year-old Serbian issued a particularly epic postgame rant following the team’s 132-131 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 9. This came after the Lakers had 23 fourth-quarter free throw attempts to the Raptors’ two.
