Wallen’s Latest Arrest May Jeopardize Upcoming Performances
Wallen, 30, was arrested at Eric Church’s Chief’s Bar in historic downtown Nashville after throwing a chair off the roof of the establishment. Wallen was charged with three felony accounts—three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct—the day following his arrest.
Video of the incident and of Wallen’s subsequent arrest went viral on social media in the days since, with fans slamming him because of his dangerous behavior. Nonetheless, Wallen is pictured grinning widely in his mugshot.

University Officials ‘Monitoring’ Wallen Situation
In a statement to USA TODAY, Worrick Robinson, Wallen’s lawyer, confirmed the arrest and said his client was “cooperating fully with authorities.”
US Weekly reported that university officials are on stand-by regarding his upcoming show.
“‘We are aware of the situation, but no changes have been relayed to us yet,’ Ole Miss athletics director Keith Carter told SuperTalk Mississippi Media via email. ‘We are obviously monitoring everything very closely.’”
Wallen had previously been slated to perform at Ole Miss in April of 2023, but that show was canceled moments before it was set to start.
“While there was speculation that he was out partying ahead of the show, he cited ‘doctor-ordered vocal rest’ in an Instagram statement,” said US Weekly.

Wallen’s History Of Legal Troubles
Legal troubles are nothing new to Wallen. He was arrested in May of 2020 for public intoxication and disorderly conduct at Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’Roll Steakhouse, also in Nashville. He entered rehab in July of 2021.
Wallen, who first appeared on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014, has also faced public backlash for his reckless behavior. In October of 2020, Morgan’s invitation to perform on “Saturday Night Live” was rescinded after he was spotted ignoring Covid protocols in videos posted to social media. He later performed on the show in December of 2020.

In February of 2021, his recording contract with Big Loud Records was suspended because of his use of racial slurs. He was also dropped by William Morris Endeavors. As a result of this incident, CMT banned him from all of their platforms.
His most recent arrest happened to be on the same day as the CMT 2024 Music Awards.

Ex’s Doesn’t Believe Recent Marriage Caused Arrest
Wallen’s latest arrest coincided with the announcement that his ex, Katie “KT” Smith, who dated Wallen from 2016 to 2019, had eloped with her fiancé, Luke Scornavacco. Smith said in an interview with The Daily Beast that, although the timing might line up, she doesn’t believe his arrest had anything to do with her.
“‘Although it may seem like it correlates because of the timeline, I have no evidence to believe the incident had anything to do with the recent marriage announcement. I cannot speak on Morgan’s behalf, but I do pray the very best for him. Praying that this was just a slip up and that he will return to the good path that he was on prior.’”
Wallen And Smith Share Son, Indigo, 3
Smith and Wallen share a 3-year-old son, Indigo Wilder. Their relationship was rocky at times, and is described as having been “off and on.” They welcomed their son after calling off their engagement in 2019.
Smith and Scornavacco announced their engagement on May 30. Five days later, the two eloped, reportedly sending Wallen into a drunken tailspin.
“According to sources who spoke to Daily Mail, Wallen was allegedly upset after finding out his ex-girlfriend, Katie ‘KT’ Smith, eloped with another man, Luke Scornavacco, on April 3. The marriage came just five days after they got engaged. ‘KT’s marriage to Luke last week just crushed him,’ the source claims. ‘Of course, he knew they were engaged and eventually going to get married – but eloping just days after they got engaged?’”
