The Atlanta Braves were given a scare early in spring training when it was reported that the reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. was dealing with a knee injury. But with MLB Opening Day just a few days away, Acuna Jr. has a clean bill of health and, barring any setbacks, should be in the team’s lineup when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the division-rival Phillies. Acuna Jr. put up historic numbers in 2023, becoming the first player in history to join the 40-70 club. As absurd as those numbers seem, the 26-year-old may actually swipe more bags this year, as a rule change could give even more advantage to runners on the basepaths. Is there a chance we will see him create the 40-80 club in 2024?
