Following their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, the San Francisco 49ers are still sorting through what went wrong. Their best player, Christian McCaffrey is not free of blame, having fumbled in the first quarter when it looked as if the Niners were close to putting points on the board.
McCaffrey lamented, “You just look at the self-inflicted wounds we had, and we just beat ourselves. Can’t put the ball on the ground, first drive there. Gotta get points, and that’s it. Bad things happen, and it’s all about how you respond. But right now, it sucks.”
