On Monday’s episode of the ABC talk show “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg outrageously claimed that abortion is not included in the Ten Commandments, arguing that “Thou shalt not kill” does not apply to it.
Trump’s Abortion Stance
Goldberg and her co-hosts were discussing the abortion stance of the former President Donald Trump that he posted to social media on Monday. In his post, Trump voiced his support for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and argued that it should be up to states to make their own abortion laws as long as there are exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother.
“My view is now that we have abortion where everyone wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps both,” Trump said, according to CNN. “And whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state.”
“Many states will be different,” he continued. “Many will have a different number of weeks, or some will have more conservative than others, and that’s what they will be. At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people.”
Goldberg Fires Back
This didn’t sit well with Goldberg, who was quick to rant about abortion on “The View” in response.
“No one is obligated to have an abortion. You never have to have one, and I hope no one ever has to have one,” Goldberg said. “I want to make sure that if you decide this is what you need to do, I’m going to get behind you because I don’t know your life, and if you say this is what you need, that’s what I’m going to do.”
“It’s you, your doctor, and God. That’s who you have to be conversational to, and it’s not mentioned in the big ten, I’m just going to say,” she added, referring to the Ten Commandments.
When her co-host Sunny Hostin pointed out that evangelical Christians would apply it to “thou shalt not kill,” Goldberg fired back by saying, “I think ‘thou shall not kill’ cannot be used as the block because we allow wars all the time.”
Hostin then pointed out the existence of the death penalty and said, “we allow guns.”
“So there is some conversation to be had there, so either thou shall not kill for everybody, and everything, or we have to talk about all the things you and I have to do,” Goldberg concluded.
The radically liberal co-host Joy Behar got in on the action as well, bizarrely drawing a comparison to immigrants flooding cities all over the U.S.
“They’re worried about immigrants coming into these cities. Wait until these women start going into cities that allow abortion. It’s going to be flooded with women, watch,” Behar said, with her co-host Sara Haines chiming in to clarify, “you mean when they relocate.”
“If they can even get out of their state because these women don’t even have money to leave Texas or whatever to come to New York,” Behar added.

Goldberg’s Previous Abortion Argument
This is far from the first time that Goldberg has ranted about abortion rights in this way. Back in 2022, Goldberg outrageously argued that God is in favor of abortion because he gave human beings “freedom of choice.”
“As you know, God doesn’t make mistakes,” she insisted. “God made us smart enough to know when it wasn’t going to work for us. That’s the beauty of giving us freedom of choice.”

As you can see, Goldberg’s views on abortion are completely unhinged, and it’s despicable that ABC continues to give her a platform to spew them on a daily basis. In the end, all that Goldberg is accomplishing with these rants is showing just how out of touch with reality she really is.
