Re: “Seattle bans throwing away batteries in garbage, citing fire risk” [Jan. 30, Local News] and “WA liquor board suspends ‘lewd conduct’ enforcement after LGBTQ+ bar inspections” [Feb. 1, Local News]:
What is wrong with this city?
We have graffiti everywhere; potholes in every street; seniors priced out of their homes; homelessness and open drug use all around; people getting shot on an almost daily basis.
And what are our leaders doing? Telling us not to toss batteries in the trash, and raiding LGBTQ+ bars and citing them for (gasp) jockstraps and (deeper gasp) an exposed nipple. I can see worse within a three-block stroll down Third Avenue in Seattle.
It’s no wonder that so many of us have absolutely no faith in government anymore.
